So, since I got this new build years ago I've had issues with random reboots/shutdowns. I should note that it's a TRULY random issue and I cannot replicate it at a click of my fingers. Gaming, stress tests and benchmarks do NOT trigger the reboots/shutdowns every time. In fact, never has a stress test caused it.
The last shutdown was actually watching a Twitch stream, nothing else open other than Discord/Speccy.
One shutdown previously actually had the end result of a dead MOBO/PSU - which i originally though to have been the main culprit, but apparently not.
Things i've tried: Testing with AIDA64, PassMark, Memtest86. Various other benchmarking software.
Should also note: Although the CPU was previously OC'd (4.9ghz) the results are the same with/without it. Everything else is stock speed.
PSU is more than enough, with/without OC - all TPD are in limits and more than enough overhead. All rails are reporting the correct levels, with very little variance.
All temperatures are fine.
Replaced parts: PSU/MOBO
I'm at a loss of what it could possibly be, actually.
Generally CPU i wouldn't expect this kind of behaviour, same with RAM.
The only thing i could possibly think would be the GPU, One thing that leads me to think about this:
I noticed in gaming with a reboots previously, When i went from something that utilized the card (a raid in FFXIV) to leaving the area (A low utilization loading screen) the PC would reboot occasionally. It was like the power draw/voltage change would trigger it.
However due to the randomness of the issue, and at lack of spare high end cards to test: it's still unconfirmed. However I haven't had this happen in a long while now, since the new MOBO/PSU.
However, the random recent shutdowns are still an issue.
Generally wanted some other people's opinions/views of potential issues/causes, since I'm a little stumped here, and we know how the GPU market currently is.
More than happy to answer any questions/read any replies.
