Moving router to a different room

Hi

I am considering moving my Virgin Media router as I'm now working from home so much and am having a real problem connecting. The problem is that the router is in the downstairs living room and my home office is in the attic. I've tried to use a WiFi extender but it didn't make any difference. Can anyone help with how I go about moving the router? I've tried to ring Virgin about this but it seems unclear who I need to speak to.

Re: Moving router to a different room

 HDS1,

You would need to speak to the faults team to move your router. There would be a charge of £99 for carrying out the non- fault work.

It may be worth your while investing in a second, non VM router or Mesh system, which you can use with any ISP.

If you read a few posts in the Networking-and-WiFi Forum  it may give you some ideas of what to go for.
