How do I speak to a human while phoning virgin media helpline?

Trying to phone vm helpline which is automated, I don’t think they’re keen talking human to human? It’s an issue about swapping from old TiVo box to newer v6 box. Tried install but keep getting error messages and re- boot starts all frustrating process again. Think it might be good to talk to someone at virgin media who might be able to help rather than sent a text message link to web help which is putting me back to the beginning of this hugely frustrating process!! Any help would be appreciated. Thinking of changing provider rather than messing around any further

Hi flapclapper1,

If you've changed to a newer V6 box it will need activating.

You need to call 0800 953 9500 to activate the box. You will need the box serial number, and your account number and area code.

You could also try contacting  New accounts and Set Up for them to complete the setup and activation. That would be options 1,1,1 and 4 if dialling 150 from a Virgin landline , or options 1,1,2 and 4  if dialling 0345 4541111 from any other phone

You could also try the following :- VM have recently started pre-activating their equipment, and the box should call "home" and be activated within 30 minutes, however sometimes this fails and the advice is to sign into Service status at the top of this page and run a test against the equipment you are installing. By doing this VM will be able to reboot the box or put you in touch with the right team

Called helpline.. was asked ( by an automated message) for password verification, robot said my answers don’t match???( Only been using same email and password 25 years) was sent a text message with a link to web help... back to rigmarole!!! ?

If you don't enter any characters for your password then the call should continue and be picked up by an agent.

The telephone password (security question) you were asked for is the memorable word that you set up with your account. Usually something along the lines of mothers maiden name, town of birth, first school etc. You can ask the agent for a reminder, however it will be sent through the post.
