catch up - only available on virgin tv box

hi , new virgin member here. ive downloaded the virgin on the go app. 

i cannot watch anything i would usually watch as it says "only available on virgin tv box"

how can i get around this ? and why do they do it?

coming from sky i could watch whatever  so this makes no sense if im stuck with it

If you're a new customer to Virgin, you'll be on the V360 platform. Here, the TV Go app serves 2 functions.

1: It's a "watch your package from anywhere you have a data connection" (with caveats) facility

2: It's a remote-control facility for your V360 box.

Any programme that says "Only available on your TV box" is self-explanatory but you can add it to your watchlist, which your V360 will pick up and you can watch it at home. In other words, function "2" is being performed.

It shouldn't happen on all progranmmes - by means of experiment, are you able to view any of the live channels in your package, via TV Go when not at home?

And do you have any specific examples of progrmmes you can't view?
