V6, TV Control and Streaming Recordings Problems

Hi, just got a new V6 box and am trying to get the TV Control app on my iPad working.

App is installed and I’ve connected to my v6 box and can control the TV (I.e. change channels etc), however I don’t seem to be able to stream recorded programs from the V6 box to my iPad.

I’ve tried all the usual rebooting of all devices, tried installing the app on other iOS devices and still get the same issues.

When we try to ‘Watch Now -> Watch on iPad’ it brings up a player screen that says one moment and then fails with an error message that says “Problem Playing Recording. An error occurred while playing this recording”.

Does anyone have any ideas??

Welcome to our community and thanks for your post 🙂

 

We have two apps- virgin TV Control- which will allow you to arrange and watch recordings etc. Then Virgin TV Go, this is what will allow you to watch live TV.

 

Can I check you're trying to access your recordings through the TV Control app?

Hi 

 

I’m using the TV Remote app to try and watch programs I’ve recorded on the V6 box on my phone - is that not the app to use?

how do I access recordings on my v6 box using the Virgin Go app??

You would need to download the TV Control app in order to watch them, you can find help on how to do this here

Eh? Sorry not sure I follow - I am using the TV Control app - that’s what I’m having problems with.

Sorry for any confusion! My mistake and the post was amended.

 

Can you let me know if the app is up to date?

 

If so, can you pop onto the settings on your V6 box to check it's connected to the WiFi?

 

You would need to go to Home> Help & Settings> Settings> Network> Change Network

 

It should prompt you to connect to your home WiFi.

 

Once this is connected to the WiFi please try the recordings again.

Hi thanks.

Yes the V6 box is connected to wifi.

The app is up to date and streaming is setup. In settings -> Streaming information it says status ready.

where is says mobile devices, it says 0 of 0? Is that right??
