Trouble downloading and streaming

I have a TiVo and a V6. Historically I have been able to download (albeit extremely slowly) various recorded programmes from the V6 box to either my iPad or my old android tablet, using the Tv control app. However, today I can not download to anything (I can stream to my android phone). I keep getting various error messages depending on whether I am trying to download to iPad or stream recordings to iPad. The app seems to think that the iPad isn't on the same network as the box - it is! It also seems to think I am not at home, I am sitting in next room to the box!!!

This all used to work fine, and nothing has changed with regard to my set up in recent times. 

Any suggestions!!

Your answer may lie in this posted elsewhere by @BenMcr :

Check in Settings > Privacy > Local Network and make sure the app has the permission enabled

If it doesn't then the app thinks it's not on your home network.

I can’t check myself as I no longer have a TiVo-based box.

Hi @Ernie_C thanks for reply, is that privacy in iPad or on V6 box? Cannot find option to change privacy as described on iPad or on settings on V6. And there is no option within the app on iPad to change privacy. And couldn't find the post you referred to, could you paste link please!

On iOS 14 the Privacy option is in the main iPad settings, not in the TV Control settings.

Looks like this is an app issue, lots of others have same issues. Just looked at recent reviews in AppStore. 🙄🙄🙄

I don’t see it as an app issue, rather a tightening up on iOS 14.

Many apps have to have this set to operate. Here’s my list:
