TV to go device registration

zoesdad1
On our wavelength

I know from reading through posts on the forum, this has been an ongoing issue for a few years.

However, I'm going to join the list of those who need their device reset limit removing so that I can get the correct name registered.

I know exactly why I'm in this position, (bought my wife and myself some whizzy new Chromebooks) and when I was setting mine up as a test I loaded the Android app. Only later did I see there was a web interface. So, the final result is that my wifes Chromebook is labelled correctly, but mine isn't.

All I really need is a RENAME button, but sadly there is only a replace button, and I've run out of allowed attempts.

So, any chance of a limit reset so that I can get this sorted, please?

TIA

Alistair

Hi @zoesdad1

Yes if we reset the devices this will remove all existing and you can then add/replace these.

I will send you a private message now.

Hi @zoesdad1

Welcome back to the community.

Sorry to hear you're having issues with your devices on your TVGO.

You can have up to 5 different compatible devices signed up to the TV Go service and use the app at one time, with the ability to make adjustments to your registered devices 3 times in one month. Instructions on how you can register a device or replace a registered device can be found here.

You will also have to then keep the cookies on your devices or it will register as a new device every time and use up all of their available changes. More info on this can be found here

Please let us know if you have any further issues next month when you are able to make adjustments again to your registered devices.

Hi Carley,

Sorry for the very late response.

Is there any way of you removing all my registered devices, and I will then be able to register them properly next time I use the web to watch the TV go?

I only need three devices, so if I log on to each of them (and get the names right) I'll be in just the position I want to be.

And, is there any possibility of getting the ability to Rename the devices, rather than the Replace which we have to do now?

I'm going to be stuck as one of the devices is registered twice under different names. I'd really like a clean sheet and start again.

TIA,

Zoesdad1

Thanks for coming back to us @zoesdad1 and there's no need at all to apologise, we have taken longer than you did to respond to us.

We can fully reset your devices from here but would need to take some details over a private message, are you okay to go ahead with this? If so, please let me know and I will get the private message sent over.

Hi Steven,

I'm fine with the reset. We don't use the facility that often, but probably with the new Chromebooks and the download to watch later facility that may change, but not for a week or two.

Correct me if I am wrong in this, but the reset will remove all existing devices, and allow me to add three new devices immediately. This sounds ideal. Looking forward to receiving your PM.

Thanks

Zoesdad1
