TV on the go - Update required

Tonight I turned my computer on to watch the Europa League Final.
Fired up Firefox, Selected my Virgin Tv Go page, it opened up and I'm faced with this message, so no footy for me tonight!

Screen Shot 2021-05-26 at 20.04.50.png

Firefox is up to date, latest version 78.10.1esr (64 bit) I'm on an iMac, I'm certain if I try another browser, I'll probably get locked out with five items registered as I did a while back.

Looks like no Champions League Final for me neither on Saturday!

This TV app really sucks at the best of times

Any suggestions?

Re: TV on the go - Update required

Hi @chaddy7604  thanks for posting and welcome back to our community.

I am sorry to hear your TV Go did not work in time to watch the Cup Final.  Can you confirm if you know if it was working on any other devices?

Regards

Re: TV on the go - Update required

Hi Lee

I can confirm my son watched on his laptop, Windows 10 & Chrome browser with no issues.

I still have the same problem of an update request, I'm reluctant to use chrome as as this will probably be seen as another device, and screw up the 5 registered items, which is another issue

It's strange that it will open up as you can see behind the update message above, but it won't do anything else

  • I'm at a loss of where I go with this 😕

Re: TV on the go - Update required

I can check to see if there's any issues impacting TV Go with iMac.  Do you mean chrome via your iMac?  If so then that should not confuse things.

Re: TV on the go - Update required

Hi Lee,

If I do install & open Chrome up on my iMac, this will immediately be seen by the app as another device, this I don't want as I don't use Chrome

It can only be an issue with Firefox, but I can't understand why it's asking for an update when I'm using the current version

The other problem is having five devices registered, is that you can't actually see what the five devices are, just what browsers they are registered too

At a push I'm going to have try another browser if this can't be resolved

Re: TV on the go - Update required

Solved it, I've downloaded Chrome just to run the Virgin TV to Go App

Did end up having to register it as another device though replacing the Firefox Browser as it told me I'd reached the maximum of 5 devices
