TV Go Device Registration Limit - Google Chrome browser

Hi,

Some of you have reported that when using Chrome, TV Go is registering the browser as a new device each time. Our team have introduced a fix that we hope will sort this issue, but please let us know if you are still having the issue so we can investigate further.

If you’ve noticed that your Chrome browser is registering multiple times after the 16th February, could you please post below with the following info:

  • Device / Operating System
  • Browser & version number

If you’re affected by this issue and need a device reset, please post below and we’ll kudos your post to let you know once we’ve done that.

would love a reset!!    might get to see some football.

its not just a chrome thing fwiw.  

android based tv box - using your android app.

hi there i have the max tv go device issue . i run windows10.  internet explorer. it registers as a chrome device for some reason. please help. thanks david

I have recently started using the TV go app on only one device, every time I log in it requests that I register a new device, but it is the same device each time.  Then once the max allowances used I am locked out.

I have read many of the posts regarding this issue it seems to have been ongoing for months,  is it going to be that every 5 times I use the app I will have to post here to get access again?

Or is there a way of getting the app to work on my laptop without all this nonsense?  

I have tried using different browsers, Chrome,  Edge and Firefox   all the same.

I have checked to make sure that cookies are cleared on shut down.   

I am  using Windows 10  Version 20H2 for x64-based Systems (KB4601382)

Hi Hahaha,

 

Thank you for reaching out to us and welcome t5o our community, I am sorry to hear the one device you are using is registering as a new device every time you use it.

 

It sounds like you may be using this on a laptop/ computer via a browser as apposed to the app, this can happen when your cookies and history is set to automatically delete when you reboot as the browser doesn't then recognise the device as all the information previously used has been removed, the simple fix is to change this in your browser settings.

 

You will need to do this on both Firefox and Google Chrome.

Could you please help me delete my devices. I am only using 2 but account saying i have 5 registered. My device is a Acer Chromebook 14 - CB3-431 and Google Chrome browser.

Thanks for using the forums to get your TV GO devices reset, I have completed this action on my side of your services so please have another go 🙂

If it still doesn't work, please try reinstalling it so the data on the app can reset, this should work.

 Hi,

can I have ANOTHER device reset as well please? 

Using Virgin - TV GO on Win 10 my PC is continually recognised as a new device 'My Computer - Google Chrome'.

Android devices are not a problem at all.

I thought this had been fixed as has been ok since last reset at end of year, until the last fortnight.
