TV GO app on android and browser not allowing review of TiVo recordings.

Virgin TVGo or TV control apps not connecting and nor is browser page https://manage-virgintvgo.virginmedia.com/tivo/shows/

Message via browser is:

The connection has timed out

An error occurred during a connection to manage-virgintvgo.virginmedia.com.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Please note I can still watch TV programmes via browser and TiVo box is normal, switched on, with no issues. I cannot remotely edit or create recordings on my TiVo.

That page is an http one not https so doesn't seem open as http. If Firefox is changing it to https then try opening it in a private browsing option as that should keep it as is.

However only TV Control can set recordings. The website can only manage or remove them.

What errors are you getting on the TV Control app? Virgin TV Go doesn't talk to the TiVo or V6 boxes, you need 360 for the recording options in TV Go.

This isn't my first rodeo. I already tried opening in private browsing and the same result. No response from the server. The apps were stuck at red screen. I have set recordings using Tv Control before. I never said I viewed the recordings on TiVo using TVGo. It was just that both apps weren't working last night but seem to be back working this morning. The webpage still cannot find the server with same error message. So they were two seperate issues.

No. I'm still getting connection timed out for https://manage-virgintvgo.virginmedia.com/tivo

Nothing on my setup seems to have changed, I have a connection to the internet and it's working fine. I'm getting 650 down and 40 up. Nothing on the connection side has changed. I've tried different browsers and running in private mode and the same error message:

The connection has timed out

An error occurred during a connection to manage-virgintvgo.virginmedia.com.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Everything else seems to be working fine for watching live TV through a browser (I do this because I have a 4K 42.5" monitor) but I'm used to using that page to view the list of recordings (I know I cannot view them), delete recordings and edit existing recordings set up on the TiVo.

Both links you've posted are 'https' for the website page.

It's not currently an https page and will not open when the browser tries to do so. It must open as http, and you may need to manually make sure of this in a private browsing session.

I'm following a link from https://virgintvgo.virginmedia.com/en/saved/recordings.html. See screen shot. The big button in the middle.

Are you really saying that the page from which I would be able to delete my TiVo recordings is not on a secure connection?

I appreciate that, but for some reason browsers changed how they dealt with the link a while back and currently don't all correctly fall back to http to display the page. A private browsing session allows opening the link as http but this can need manual checking to do this.

So try this link in a private browsing option http://manage-virgintvgo.virginmedia.com/tivo/

As for the page itself, the sign in page is https for username and password entry, but the page after that which shows information from the box is currently http.

I'm sure It was working fine after last Firefox release (a minor release at that) on the 19th. This is because it's one of my startup pages so it loads, or used to, every time I fire up the browser. Then I fired it up middle of last week and it wouldn't load. I have managed, once, to get it to load by editing the link in private browsing and when it goes to the https sign in page after several minutes, I enter my login and several minutes later it loaded as a http page as you said but it is so 'get up and make a coffee' slow it cannot be normal. The second time it didn't load and said it was only for virginmedia customers, having got there from the sign in page which was filled in correctly because it autofills!

OK. Thanks I got there in the end (I Think). I got it to load as an HTTP from firefox (not private browsing) by clearing the site cookies and data. Unfortunately this now means I had to register as a new device and I'm running closer to the limit on devices now.
