TV Control App

Why does the TV Control App refuse to play programmes on my iPad as it thinks I’m away from home when I’m in my own lounge and the App is connected to my V6 box? How do I sole this problem?

Re: TV Control App

If you're on iOS 14, check that local network access is enabled in the app settings for TV Control. That's via Home Screen > Settings > TV Control

Re: TV Control App

Ah OK didn't realise it doesn't show up in the main Settings page.

There is another way I've been told:

Go to Settings > Privacy > Local Network

TV Control will be shown there

Re: TV Control App

Thank you for your help. Not sure why, but it’s sorted itself when I deleted the App and re-downloaded it. I’ve done that 3 times before but this time the App Store didn’t offer me to download again from the Cloud but offered a NEW download as if I’d never had it before. When I did that, it gave me some new setup options and it is now working properly.

Thanks again for you help.

Re: TV Control App

Same issue, tried everything suggested here, including uninstall and reinstall and still doesn't work, tells me I'm out of home.......I'm not, I'm in next room 😆

Re: TV Control App

When did you last delete and reinstall the app? I think Virgin have updated it recently (was there and issue?) so might be worth another try....

Re: TV Control App

If I understand correctly, downloading a fresh copy of an app in iOS 14 should cause a pop-up like this which ‘installs’ the privacy setting:
