I'm sorry to hear you're having some problems accessing the Sky Sports service. To confirm, is this issue only seen on the Macbook, or other devices too? Can you please try to clear your browser cache and cookies, and try again?
As a quick check as well, are you able to access the channel directly through your TV Box?

1. I have cleared all cache and history from my MacBook, issue still occurs
2. I am able to log into sky sports from all other devices that are android
3. below, message comes up
My thanks for your help, I'm not sure if any background work has been done by virgin in the last 24 hrs, but the issue seems to have been resolved, which is good for me but strange that it happened.
