Registered device check is broken on macOS and IOS

On MacOS and IOS, Virgin TV Anywhere's device detection is broken.

Each time the browser (Safari, FireFox or Chrome) starts up, the webpage sees the same device as a completely new one, and issues the "number of devices exceeded" error.
That means the user is locked out of all non-basic channels for a month, at which time the same "new" device can be "added" again.
I reported this to support in February, they could do nothing other than empty my device list, postponing the problem.

Any word on a fix?

Re: Registered device check is broken on macOS and IOS

Good morning @gerod

Welcome to the forums and thank you for taking the time to post.

I am sorry to hear that you are still having this issues with the TVGO.

Are you able to confirm if you are using the same browser every time you try and watch it?  If you use multiple browsers the system will think you are registering a new devise.

Kind regards,

Zak_M

Re: Registered device check is broken on macOS and IOS

This worked for a while, then stopped working again lately.

Firefox 86.0, 64-bit.

MacOS 11.2.2.

Get "You have reached the maximum of devices that can be registered to your account" message for almost all channels on www.virginmediatv.ie/en/tv.

Hi gerod,

Thanks for coming back to us, are you now able to use your devices with it being a new month and devices being refreshed?

Regards

Paul.

Re: Registered device check is broken on macOS and IOS

Was able to, briefly, Paul.

Now it's broken again, not recognising the only 2 devices I've used for years, and refusing to let me register them until April 1st.

If you can't fix your device-recognition check, could you at least allow device changes more often?

So when it does break again, we lose a week's tv instead of a month's?
