I have recently joined Virgin TV from Sky. I have spent the past 12 years happily watching Sky Go on my computer. I still have it for another week and it works like a dream in comparison (silly me).
Virgin GO does not seem to allow me to watch any recorded programs at all 😮.
I mostly watch recorded programs so this is extremely annoying 😭.
It doesn't seem to matter what channel I have recorded either.
Is this really normal for Virgin? I'm finding it hard to believe that the Virgin Go service would be so much worse than Sky's.
I'm hoping that it is me doing something wrong? If so, please tell how to fix this. (Hopefully, it's a simple fix).
Or does Virgin GO simply not work on any computers, laptops etc etc ? ☹️
(I may have tentatively asked previously but am looking for a definitive answer if possible).

Recordings are only available on the Android & iOS apps, not via the website. Rebroadcast agreements are more strict on VM. Also it stops the risk of content copying, particularly with Windows based laptops & PCs

Many thanks for the reply 👍👍

Looks like I'm either going to have to get used to watching on a 5 inch screen or else tell the missus she's going to have to share the TV every evening 🤐
So much for being able to watch TV anywhere using the GO app ... I cant even watch it in my own home ☹️
I have just re-read the Virgin advert for GO and realise that it is [deliberately?] misleading.
Before I signed up, I took it to say that I could use Virgin GO to watch recordings on my PC, exactly like I've done for years with Sky GO.
And since i was getting a Virgin TV 360 box, I would be able to "stream my recordings around the home" using Virgin GO.
Nowhere does it say that the App doesn't work on the PCs or Macs that it specifically mentioned in the previous sentence 😠
I now realise that the wording, although [arguably] factually correct, is cynically designed to mislead.
'Pretty Awesome' ... not!

It seems plain enough to me.
"What's more, Virgin V360 customers can also manage their recordings or stream their recordings around the home with the Virgin TV Go app".
No mention of using the website for these two facilities in the preceeding sentence. The live channel functionality is common to ALL Virgin TV Go users (V360 & TiVO platforms). The two V360 facilities are only available via the Go app. TiVO users use a seperate TV Control app for these two functions.

... and no mention that the virgin app doesn't work on windows 😞
(The sky app works perfectly on windows etc btw).
I've learned my lesson 🙂 🙂

There isn't a Windows app. Never has been.

Maybe try an Android emulator on Windows, and install the app there?

Hi paulh_nwuk,
Thanks for posting o the forums with this TV GO App question.
To watch selected recordings from Virgin TV Go on your phone or tablet, first make sure the device is connected your Hub's Wi-Fi. Then open the app, go to My Shows, choose the show you want to watch and press Watch Now. Select 'Mobile' or 'Tablet' and it will start playing.
Recordings are only available through the Android and iOS apps. For 360 that's Virgin TV Go, and for V6 and TiVo that's Virgin TV Control.
It's not available on Windows or macOS through the browser though, sorry.
I hope this helps answer your question!
Thanks,
Megan_L

Really? I'm looking at it now after having downloaded it from the Windows App Store. I can watch live TV and Box Sets. However, its usage is limited because it does not allow me to watch my recordings from my V6 box downstairs. This has been explained elsewhere - to prevent piracy

Virgin TV Go shouldn't be in the Windows Store anymore.
That app was discontinued in favour of the browser version, which doesn't support recordings for any box.
