remotely switching off broadband

Hi

We have two young daughters who each have laptops and I have recently caught them watching films/clips etc. on their laptops after they have been put to bed. Is there a way of remotely switching off the VM broadband (or setting a timer so that it switches off at a certain time each day so they cant watch things online after that)?

Thanks in advance.

Duncan

Re: remotely switching off broadband

You can try MAC filtering on the hub and applying the filter to the required times of day.

Not sure how resiliently it works though. Removing the laptops at night might be simpler and more reliable!

Re: remotely switching off broadband

It won't do everything you want but you can use the VM Connect App to pause wifi on selected devices. It's free and easy to use:

You will have to do this every day.

Re: remotely switching off broadband

Hi Duncan

this crops on here quite often and the simple answer is yes, but not with the tools VM provide.

Have a look at this thread for options:

Setting up screen time rules in Windows (or whatever OS the laptops use) is probably the simplest tech solution and costs nothing.

However, no parental controls are fool proof and many experts say that talking to kids and educating them about screen time is more effective.
