How is it possible to have implemented a worse set of parental controls than the old box? I can lock apps on my TV but not the v360 box, I can lock channels, why not apps?

Sorry to hear you feel this way regarding the 360TV box. This feature is not yet available on TV360. We will pass this feedback on to the relevant teams to be looked into. 

Virgin TV 360, however  comes with a default PIN of 1234, but it’s easy to change this and set up parental controls. You can find out more here https://assets.virginmedia.com/resources/pdf/Virgin-TV-360-User-Guide.pdf .
