What is P2P in child safe settings?

I have a vulnerable child in my house and just checking my child safe settings. I currently have P2P OFF but I don't know what it is, or if it should be on instead? I have recently set my VM Hub in modem mode and am using TP Link Deco 5's in the home, so will the VM child safe settings actually work now I'm using Deco? Hope im asking on the correct board!

Re: What is P2P in child safe settings?

Hello

P2P is peer to peer normally used for sharing files through a torrent for example.

The child safe will still work when in modem mode unless the Deco has changed the DNS servers

Have a look at https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/kb/detail/304 the settings should have both Primary 194.168.4.100 and Secondary 194.168.8.100.

Thanks. What would be a common example of a torrent, I do not know what this is?

Re: What is P2P in child safe settings?

Hello

Torrents are sometimes used to share files illegally for example movies etc.

Have a look at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitTorrent to be able to do this there must be a program on the device to allow this sharing.
