Super Hub 3.0 MAC Filtering does NOT work

I have today replaced my new 3.0 Hub with my old 2ac Hub due to lack of functionality the MAC Filtering under Security. There is a bug in the 3.0 which means any devices added are completely blocked rather than the times set. I wasted a lot of time before I read about the problems with it on the forum and promptly gave up. I was very relieved to have my 2ac back. Fortunately I had not returned it. I think it is disgraceful that Virgin are continuing to send out this flawed piece of kit out to families. I have three children and I rely on the MAC filtering to limit time on devices. I have raised a case with Virgin but obviously this bug is not a priority for them.
