I had the same situation. I am waiting for Freely this year as an internal aerial isn’t strong enough for our other unsmart TV. Meanwhile, I was given a NOW stick which has BBC and ITV live tv access via the BBC iPlayer and ITVX apps included- much to my surprise as I only thought it had Sky apps .
Might be worth a try meanwhile plus you can sign up to Sky and others on a monthly basis without doing it through Virgin Media.
