upgraded to 350 Mbps getting 70

speedtest.net getting 70 Mbps routinely on wired connection when was getting 110 Mbps up to last week on previous package

calling Virgin seems to go nowhere and direct me here to post the logs and modem status

router is not overloaded there are only 5 devices on wired using devolo mains ethernet sockets which were getting the 110 last week and a handful of mobiles on wifi which I have disconnected to test if it makes any difference (no it does not)

Calling virgin seems to be pointless first they said the router was offline (it wasn't) then it said to restart it (already tried this including an overnight power off)

is there a customer complaints line as the sign up for 350 said speeds should not drop below 181

Re: upgraded to 350 Mbps getting 70

Your devolo are probably the bottleneck, can you do the Speedtest properly directly from the hub?

Re: upgraded to 350 Mbps getting 70

givenhow they were getting the 110 last week I would not have thought so however plugging new LAN cable capable of 1000 Mbps into the USB ethernet adaptor and sure enough whoosh

guess I will be buying the newer devolos for 2400 Mbps after all

It's very easy to get interference when using powerline adapters.

Just because you 'upgrade' to '2400Mbps' adapters (They only have gigabit ethernet sockets!) it doesn't mean you'll get much, if any, faster speeds.
