still 40mb on m500mb !!!!

hi,just spoke to an agent and feel ive been fobbed off ! changed my package from 200mb to 500mb as my wife works from home so would benefit from faster broadband,wish i hadnt bothered as ive had nothing but problems ! got the quickstart package set it up and im only getting 40mb on speedtest ?? first of all tried modem mode so i can use my archer c9 modem for better wifi etc and got 40mb and been told solid red light means overheating ?? just been told by agent this is normal for modem mode,ok took my archer c9 out and went for straight connection to the hub 3 using the hubs wifi and same crap 40mb speed !! yes ive reset this twice and cmon virgin media whats this about 40mb when i should be on 500mb !!!!! been told by agent no problem in my area eh12 but monitor my speed for 24hrs ?? whats that all about !!!

Modem Mode is a magenta base light.

Overheating indication is a red base light in Router Mode.

What colour base light do you have in Router Mode ?

What speeds do you get at >> speedtest.net << with a direct connection using a Cat 5E or better cable between the Hub in Router Mode and a 1Gbs capable Pc/Mac/Chromebook and no other devices connected ?

hi,the light at the moment is yellowish/orange 

 

internet is working at the moment but only at 40mb

Internet at 40Mbs with an ethernet cable connection ?

Can you Login to the Hub Settings and navigate to the Connected Devices page - what is the reported 'connection speed’ for the ethernet cable connected device you used for the speed test ?

Internet(Partial Service (DS only)) says this also

seen this on another forum 

It's a problem with either your coaxial cable or the splitter. Not all the downstream channel frequencies are operating correctly so your speeds will be reduced or dropping. Ring Virgin, they'll probably have to send someone out to replace cable and or splitter.

 

the first night it was plugged in which was 2 nights ago i was hitting 500mb and my hub 2 when i was on 200mb was pretty solid everytime i checked speed,virgin said i needed the hub 3 for 500mb

hi,the speed says 1000mbps

 

cant understand whats going on with this as i had a solid connection with my hub 2 on 200mb and i switch to the hub 3 with 500mb and get shockingly bad internet speed,ive checked all cables etc and everything is the same as it was on the hub 2 connection,why would that agent say monitor it for 24hrs ? they not telling me something or what ?

Can you please

Type 192.168.0.1 (192.168.100.1 in Modem mode) into your browser URL bar and press enter. 

Hub 2 & 3 When the page appears DO NOT LOG IN but click ‘Check Router Status’.

Hub 4 When the page appears LOG IN then click ‘Check Router Status’.

Copy and paste the contents of the Downstream, Upstream, Configuration and Network Log tabs onto here, if you get a yellow / straw box warning click the Post button again. Use one post for each tab if you wish.

Please do not use screen grabs.

A Guru will be along soon to decipher the info.
