slow speed suppose due to Gig1 - 0 Downstream DOCSIS 3.1 Channels

Hello,

I have upgraded three months ago and still not able to get more than 500 speed in best circumstances. Spoken to virgin media multiple times but nothing sorted.

Looking for help.

Whilst waiting for the images....

Your ~500Mbps.... is that over wifi or on an ethernet cable connected computer or laptop?

If wifi then you will never get much more than that as the Hub4 is only wifi5. You will need Wifi6 equipment to get more speed over wifi.

Thanks @jbrennand, its on wired connection.

Here is the DOCSIS channels I get. not sure the issue is due to only getting DOCSIS 3.0 channels?

I cant read you images - can you post the data as text as below - someone more familiar with the Hub4 can then comment. There may be other reasons why you only get ~500. Are you in modem mode?...  with your router applying some QoS to ration the bandwidth. Other equipment concurrently connected - can, and does affect speeds ... So disconnect all other ethernet connected and wifi devices.  Also test at https://speedtest.samknows.com/ - if speeds are still low - boot the computer/laptop into safe+networking mode and test speeds again

Don't worry too much about the formatting it can be easily read & DON’T include personal data or MAC addresses - blank them out - if you copy/paste the data, the board software will do this for you (you may need to click the "submit" button again. If character limits are “exceeded” - just do two posts if you exceed the character limits.

@malhotra_km the channel allocation is right, for the gig one tier, there should be 31 DOCSIS 3.0 channels and one 3.1 channel, and that’s on the downstream, the upstream is four 3.0 channels. Upstream power is worryingly close the upper limit but if it is stable then that’s not necessarily an issue. There is nothing in the logs to indicate any issue, although they seem to end around 19th December so possibly something else is going on which the logs aren’t reporting.

Personally I’d do a complete factory (pinhole) reset of the hub and then run a Speedtest and also see what the logs show.
