poor and intermittent internet connection

Changed our router to hub3. and speed to 200mbps ,  as we are now working from home,  our laptops and ethernet wired computer , connect to the router from sweet spots in the house, although this can be intermittent .  a message often shows that wifi is connected to the router but there is no internet..   never had this problem with our old kit..  could I just plug the old one back in. and would it be compatible with our new TV box?  any ideas much appreciated??  ...   

if a buy a better router with a stronger signal can I bypass the hub 3

The old Hub will not work as your router - it is de-activated.
You can put your current Hub into modem mode and use your own router and wireless equipment - many on here (me!) do. Your home's wireless network will be much improved and all devices will connect fine - assuming that your network connection on ethernet cable connected devices, is all ok indicating no network connection issues.
