packet loss and ping issues since move

Hello,

I've been having a problem with my virgin media internet speed since I moved to my new home and the VM engineer installed a new hub 3 router. I even upgraded the speed to 200Mb.

When I do an internet speed test, it's usually ok, some times the upload speed reaches the advertised 200Mb. But when I do a traceroute to 8.8.8.8 for example, I get around 70ms ping time to the local gateway (192.168.0.1) and more than 50% packet loss. I am using an Ethernet cable to connect to the router. 

can someone help me with this please :

1- is this related to a problem with my new hub 3 or is it that VM internet is just slow in this area ?

2- would an upgrade to 1Gb speed with the new hub 4 help ?

Please post a 'Live Link' to your BQM on here straight away.

Instructions for posting BQM Live Link

Under your BQM graph are two links in red.

Click the lower link (Share Live Graph) then click generate.

Copy the text in the Direct Link box, beware, there may be more text than you can see.

On here click the Link icon (2 links chain to the left of the camera icon)

In the URL box paste the link you copied and in the ‘text to display’ box write My BQM then click OK - you can post the link straight away.
