lagging and slow speed

Hi, I was wondering if someone can help. I recently had virgin media installed (22 may) and from the beginning i have been having issues. The connections will drop, or the speeds will be low etc. I.e. on samsung smart TV, it will show 10/12MBs on netflix speed, while if i was to do a test on my phone or laptop it will show speed of 100Mbs but even on my device it will not translate that speed in use, the browser will hang or be slow to load etc.

Please can someone see what settings or things I can possible do different to make life easier.

Are these wired or wireless speeds?

Re: lagging and slow speed

You need to test when wired.

Wireless speeds and connectivity aren’t guaranteed

Re: lagging and slow speed

Put the hub into modem mode and get a better router or mesh system.

Re: lagging and slow speed

To be honest I bought a £120 router.... Didn't resolve the issue.

There is an obvious problem during the day.

If I do a speed test during working hours I'm getting less than 10 Mbps.

No one in the household is using the internet only me.

If I do a speed test in the evening, I'm getting over 60 Mbps

and that is with 2 TVs streaming Netflix, and the 3 - 4 people on Facebook on their phones and tablets.  and playing Fortnite on PS4.

If it was a problem with the wifi it would be worse in the evening, not the day time!!!

The issue is obviously the delivery of service during the day time.
