gig1 upgrade slow speeds after a few minutes

hey, upgraded from 600 to 1gb

for the first 10-20 mins, it runs fine and i get 950 download and 52 upload (pretty much the fastest the hub can put out to a single device)

but after a short while, my download speed is drastically cut down to 40-50mb, until i re-start the hub and the process repeats itself

any idea what could be causing this?

the speed to the hub itself is being cut, it's not something to do with my pc (happens on phone, laptop, tv etc)

Then you hub 1Gb and it drops low see if it comes back without rebooting the hub by speed tests every 12 hours.

sounds worth a shot, I did leave it from about midnight until 12 and was still happening, will see how it is when I'm back from work tonight 🙂 thanks

Might be a bug with the hub rate limiter if you hit it with a continuous download.

Still not working even after contacting live chat and them saying it's fine

it's down to 5mb now from 950, restart gets me 950, 10 minutes it's down to 40, then later on drops to 5

Well yes you have a few problems there.

the 3.1 download channel is at 2048 indicating some noise. It should be at 4096.

On your 3.0 channels one (channel 33) is completely dead, also indication some sort of noise.

Upload power is high but is still within spec.

Either way you are going to need an engineer visit to work out where the noise is coming from.

I'm sure virgin will be along shortly to arrange a visit.
