Upgraded to Gig1 Fibre during the October lockdown but was not getting advertised speeds.
Left it a few weeks to settle in. nothing changed. Now lockdown has lifted, I thought it would suitable to raise this issue as potentially will need an engineer onsite to solve.
"Up to" target Speed is 1000Mbps
Currently on Wifi, the hub 4 max speed is 349Mbps, where as on Etherent the max speed is 281Mbps (28% of "up to" speed for etherent) This is with a single device connected to the hub via ethernet cable and all other devices disabled & device less than 2m from hub for the wifi test.
I've tried running the SamKnows Real speed test but the test fails to run after connecting to my Router.
I've also tried using the Hub 4 in Modem mode but both the Etherent and Wifi speeds drop when doing so. (I had the super hub 3 previously in modem mode and had no issues with wifi or ethernet speeds on the 200Mbps package)
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm currently out of ideas and getting fed up paying a premium rate for a service i'm not even close to receiving.
Welcome to our Community and thanks so much for your first post - I was sorry to understand that you're having some slow speeds even via Ethernet connection.
I have located your account from this end and as our users have advised earlier in the thread this week your stats are looking to be ok; we have no known area issues in your region at the time of writing.
We can see you rebooted within the last 24 hours; how have things been looking since your post? Any updates on what @Richw1982 has advised?
I've checked the wall tv/internet Splitter and it doesn't have any speed markings and i'm using the Cat 6a cable which was provided alongside my old super hub 3 - as didn't get any replacements with the Hub 4.
There hasn't been any increase/decrease in my Speeds since the Hub 4 factory reset on Tuesday unfortunately. Ethernet speeds are still terrible and much worse than Wifi even at a fair range. I get faster wifi upstairs with the router downstairs than I do via etherent.
I'm not sure what else I can try and i've tried to book an engineer through the website but it appears to be impossible. the one day i almost got through it said i had to wait 24 hours and then the next day it said my service was fine again so couldn't book..
