Xbox download speed very slow

Hi all,

im trying to download a game onto my Xbox (which is wired) but I’m only getting speeds of 1mb, I pay for 200mb and when I run a speed test on my laptop it says 170mb (Which seems about right)

any ideas as to why my Xbox is running so slow!?

thanks in advance!

Re: Xbox download speed very slow

Xbox servers are running slow when downloading.

Use the speed test option on the Xbox settings and you’ll see you’re getting full speeds.

The Xbox download servers are having issues.

Re: Xbox download speed very slow

Hi,

thanks for the answer!

ive done a speed checker using the Xbox and all seems to be running great, 150+mb.

potentially it’s then Xbox servers throttling me? Is there anything I can do?

Re: Xbox download speed very slow

So Xbox is getting a good connection speed.

Its the Xbox download servers.

You can try pausing a download/update for a few mins then resuming it and you might get load balanced onto another server.

Its not a “Virgin Issue” as other posters believe - I know people on BT, Vodafone, Zen, HyperOptic and they also have the same issue.
