WiFi speeds not as quoted

Anyone else not get even half the speed Virgin quoted, follow all the online tech guides and get absolutely no where. Just wasting an our of their time?

Any advice? I’d contact Virgin but that seems pretty impossible at the moment.

Fed up 😩

Re: WiFi speeds not as quoted

Good Evening

Are you running your speed tests on WiFi or on a Hardwired connection?

Also which speedtest sites have you been using?

Thanks

Christy

Re: WiFi speeds not as quoted

Hey, yeah it was the wireless network I was testing. Right next to the router.

To test the speed I use an app called Speedtest, it’s the same app I’ve used since install and can trend the decline in broadband speed.

I’ve followed all the online tech support and got it to just under half the speed I’m paying for.

 Any advice much appreciated.

Re: WiFi speeds not as quoted

no isp guarantees wifi speed - to know if there is a problem with the input you need to test wired using a gigabit card and a cat5e cable or better

if thats haft speed then VM need to look at the problem if its full speed then you need to look at it and resolve

not all devices will give full speed on fifi so what are you testing with and what speeds are you getting
