Re: WiFi problems again

Had to reboot the router last night, then no device could connect saying obtaining IP and it was like this for an hour. Did another reboot, rebooted devices and finally connected .

Once connected. Did a speed test which failed to connect then 4th attempt it connected .

I will be phoning cancellations as Virgin are never going to fix my problem it seems .

No internet, try unplug and wait 10 seconds for the miracle to happen!

Re: WiFi problems again

Hello davef1uk,

I'm sorry to hear you have had intermittent service.
This is clearly not the type of service we promised.

I understand how you feel about cancelling your service.

How are things going since your last post? We would love to know

so we can help you further.

Have you already spoken to anyone about your cancellation?

Let us know, so we'll know how to move forward.

Re: WiFi problems again

Apologies don't fix things . But thank you .  Action would be nice .

Nothing has or will ever get better.

New cable, new router. But still same crappy service.

Last time I phoned cancellations they offered me 200mbps in hope that will fix my issue .

I find it crazy no one at Virgin knows what is actually causing it.

It's pretty obvious to me. If the cable is fine, router too, it has to be the network . Be it some one along the line causing it.

Could be a service they have discontinued but the end is open.

I would just like this fixing .

No internet, try unplug and wait 10 seconds for the miracle to happen!

Re: WiFi problems again

Hi Davef1uk,

It's a shame your still having the same issue. We do appreciate your feedback though. Let me just ask some few questions in order to identify

the resolution to your WiFi issue.

Can you confirm what hub are you currently using?
What are the light status on the equipment?

If you are using the using the hub 3 you might wanna check this thread as it helped some of our customers.

In case this doesn't work, please get back to us to we could

look further in to your connection.

Re: WiFi problems again

Dave, it looks like you are being given the run around by the Mods and getting no real no active help. So I would Call “Retentions” on 150 or 0345 454 1111 - options 1-1-4-5 "Thinking of leaving" - they are open Monday – Friday, 8am - 8pm and on Saturday from 8am - 6pm. – [early is best!]) you will get a UK call centre who are more flexible. Tell them you want to know when your contract ends and can leave without penalty (check it first so you actually know) and tell em you want to leave for Sky/BT because of these continually unresolved problems - and they at least will try and sort it for you or give you best information (as it’s actually their job to keep customers).

Re: WiFi problems again

imo you need to draw a line under the posts above and need to start again

VM are whistling in the wind - how is this that or the other - links to other threads - maybe they should try and help instead of posting replies that do nothing other than add to their post count

so if you are up to another try post the facts as they are today - new cable from the cab? - new hub? - anything else

a full reset sometime in the past - did you then turn off smart wifi and split the bands?

and repost the upstream and downstream levels

then sit back and wait for VM to offer their chat or ask you how things are

that apart hope other users can make some suggestions

Re: WiFi problems again

Hi, happywithmy350.

I see you're curious about the boosters. The information on this link will help.

Alternatively, if you'll need more information about them give the team a call on 03454541111, another option is to send a text on 07533051809 between 8am and 7pm Mondays through Fridays. I can assure you they'll be glad to assist.

Thanks,
Ning_Q
