Hi, when will the free speed increase to m100 roll out as advertised here - https://www.virginmedia.com/virgin-tv-edit/customer-exclusive/broadband-speed-boost

I haven't heard anything/seen any speed increase.

Thanks

I'm not sure why the date is what is on that article, but the speed boost already happened - in January 2020

https://www.virginmedia.com/corporate/media-centre/press-releases/virgin-media-starts-2020-with-a-br...

Currently, the way to get a speed boost on Virgin Fibre across all tiers except Gig1 is to take advantage of the Volt benefits of being a Virgin Media and O2 customer - https://www.virginmedia.com/help/virgin-o2-benefits

So what speeds are you seeing, how are you measuring them?

As a check on what speed is set on the connection, click on this link http://192.168.0.1/  that should pull up the log in page for the hub.  But don't log in, just click on the link "Check router status"  That'll bring up a window with five tabs.  Open the Configuration tab, scroll down to the section Primary Downstream Service Flow, and copy and paste in a reply here the value next to Max Traffic Rate, as that's your connection "speed limit" in bits per second.

The router status says: Max Traffic Rate 57500000 and in the Virgin media my account, it still says M50 😕

That article is dated MON 18TH OCT 2021, so not that long ago.  Basically the minimum speed tier should now be 100.  It does say "you don't have to do a thing" so assuming VMO2 will just take time to send out 100MB config files to everyone below this speed.

Good Morning @Test231, thanks for your post on our Community Forums, and a very warm welcome to you!

Sorry to hear of the slower than expected speeds.

Are you able to run a speed test via a Cat 6 Ethernet cable, and with the hub in modem mode?

This will tell us what speed we have going into your property. If this reads as the subscribed speed and if this is below the subscribed speed, this may be an issue with the speed upgrade not being issued, or possibly outside the property that needs to be rectified

Kindest regards,
