Very slow upload speeds of 0.03 Mbps

I have the same problem, good download, 80-90 MBS but during the day upload is as slow as 0.1mbs, unuseable even for email attachments. I have even connected a spare laptop directly to the hub to run Speedtest and just as bad, I have been on online chat to support on and off for two days and getting nowhere. Appaling customer service . Both myself and my wife volunteer for charities and need to send pictures and files. Considering cancelling the contract quoting breach of contract and going with Sky or BT

Re: Very slow upload speeds of 0.03 Mbps

If possible can you set up a Broadband Quality Monitor (BQM) at thinkbroadband.com - this will give you an insight into what is happening with the signal at the other side of the Hub, it will take a few hours to get any kind of trend showing although you should post the link straight away.

Post a 'Live Link' to your BQM on here.

Instructions for posting BQM Link

Under your BQM graph are two links in red.

Click the lower link (Share Live Graph) then click generate.

Copy the text in the Direct Link box, beware, there may be more text than you can see.

On here click the Link icon (2 links chain to the left of the camera icon)

In the URL box paste the link you copied and in the ‘text to display’ box write My BQM then click OK - you can post the link straight away.

Re: Very slow upload speeds of 0.03 Mbps

Can you please

Type 192.168.0.1 (192.168.100.1 in Modem mode) into your browser URL bar and press enter.

Hub 2 & 3 When the page appears DO NOT LOG IN but click ‘Check Router Status’.

Hub 4 When the page appears LOG IN then Advanced Settings > Tools > Network Status.

Copy and paste the contents of the Downstream, Upstream, Configuration and Network Log tabs onto here, if you get a yellow / straw box warning click the Post button again. Use one post for each tab if you wish.

Please do not use screen grabs.

A Guru will be along soon to decipher the info.

Re: Very slow upload speeds of 0.03 Mbps

Have you checked the 'Check Service Status' at the top of the page ?

Try phoning 0800 561 0061, this will tell you of more local issues that may be affecting your district. Be aware that it isn't a manned line.

Go round all the accessible internal and external co-ax connections and ensure that they are finger tight.

Re: Very slow upload speeds of 0.03 Mbps

Hi

Thanks,

Service staus states there are no problems as does the 0800 number but the online test says there is a problem and that others in the area are also experiencing problems. This is the message

"Network issue
We have detected an issue that maybe affecting your broadband

What does this mean?

This issue is caused by interference on our network impacting multiple customers in your area.
This will cause intermittent speeds and performance may vary at different times.
Our Network teams are aware of this issue and further details on resolution will be available as soon as possible."

I have checked all the obvious, rebooted the hub, checked all connections, connected a PC directly to the Hub with a short CAT5 cable and as we speak I am getting an upload speed of 0.06 MB/s.It will be interesting to see what the speed is at around midnight I finally got through to a tech via the chat system and an engineer is coming out on Friday.

. As a retired comms supprt angineer with ICL/Fujitsu I find all this  very frustrating!

Re: Very slow upload speeds of 0.03 Mbps

You are very lucky to be getting an engineer visit when there is a known area problem, the CS staff are blocked from booking or the visit will likely get cancelled.
