Very slow upload speed less than 10Mbps

Hi

For a while I have been having problems with Zoom meetings when working from home, and the kids have been compaining about glitchy gaming over the internet.

I ran a speed test back in August and we're getting 80Mbps download but only 9Mbps upload speed.  I've repeated the test several times since then and it is consistently at this level, day-and-night.

It's the same whether wired or wireless connection, and with all devices.  There are no service status issues in the area, and I've done a hard reset of the router (Hub 3.0). All connections are tight.

I searched this forum and found posts about signal levels being too high.  I checked the router status (192.168.0.1) and the levels looked OK.

Any ideas?  Is it the Hub?

Thanks

Jim

Re: Very slow upload speed less than 10Mbps

first question what package are you on - worth posting the levels just to let others comment

you are not commenting on 80 down so wondering if you are 100 - if so 10 up is correct

Re: Very slow upload speed less than 10Mbps

levels are good - maybe a bit of noise on the line from the pre rs error count - they might be historical - to clear them reboot the hub and see if they rise again

your upload speed is set to 10 in the config which is correct - so you are getting that or there abouts if i understand correctly

if you want better then you would have to increase your package - 200 down gives 20 up

Re: Very slow upload speed less than 10Mbps

Thanks Tony

The speed tester I am using (uswitch) implied that 9 Mbps is way below average - I assumed it was 100Mbps both directions.

Is 10Mbps upload enough for the kids gaming?  The eldest plays Ark, which seems to be very hardware resource-heavy.

Cheers

Jim
