Very slow speeds the last two evenings - London SW9

Hi,

I have noticed my usually stable M100 slowing down to around 5mb the past two evenings. This was the speed test result yesterday evening:

This morning it is back up to 100mb+.

Are you aware of any issues in the area or is there something I should look into my end?

I am connected directly to the router via ethernet.

Similar issues for me in the same area. We have M200 but I'm only getting 35-60mbps at the moment. It was as low as 20mbps yesterday!

Same thing again tonight - fine all day then slows right down in the evening. This is not what we are paying for!

Re: Very slow speeds the last two evenings - London SW9

Can you set up a Broadband Quality Monitor (BQM) at thinkbroadband.com - this will give you an insight into what is happening with the signal at the other side of the Hub, it will take a few hours to get any kind of trend showing although you should post the link straight away.

Post a link to your BQM on here.

Instructions for posting BQM Link

Under your BQM graph are two links in red.

Click the lower link (Share Live Graph) then click generate.

Copy the text in the Direct Link box, beware, there may be more text than you can see.

On here click the Link icon (2 links chain to the left of the camera icon)

In the URL box paste the link you copied and in the ‘text to display’ box write My BQM then click OK - you can post the link straight away.

Re: Very slow speeds the last two evenings - London SW9

Seems to be some quite severe latency spikes appearing on the BQM graph - however I haven't noticed the latency being affected, just my up/down speeds

Speed back up to normal now but I fully expect it to drop right back down again tomorrow evening.

Re: Very slow speeds the last two evenings - London SW9

Judging by the BQM I have some issues with my line:

WillyBarno_0-1602057531345.png

BQM Link to monitor as the images take so long to load.

So between 6pm and 11pm every evening I get huge latency spikes and dropped packets. Hopefully someone from Virgin sees this and replies. In the meantime is there anything else I should check?

No one from Virgin even going to weigh in on this? There is clearly an issue here - I'd just like to know if we have an ETA on when it might be fixed.

Re: Very slow speeds the last two evenings - London SW9

Can you please

Type 192.168.0.1 (192.168.100.1 in Modem mode) into your browser URL bar and press enter.

Hub 2 & 3 When the page appears DO NOT LOG IN but click ‘Check Router Status’.

Hub 4 When the page appears LOG IN then click ‘Check Router Status’.

Copy and paste the contents of the Downstream, Upstream and Network Log tabs onto here, if you get a yellow warning click the Post button again. Use one post for each tab if you wish. Please do not use screen grabs.

A Guru will be along soon to decipher the info.
