VPN use on Hub 3

Hi Guys

I have a simple question

I will be coming across from Hyperoptic to virgin media in my new flat

In Hyperoptic i have been able to use my VPN without any problems ( just running VPN from desktop ) no manipulation on the router

Can i use VPN through my desktop on virgin media - without manipulating the router- heard VPNs dont work anymore and there are fancy fix arounds - i access different libraries so i use VPN and if i cant use that virgin is useless - so any help would be appreciated

Also with VPN will my speed come to a crouch if i need to stream a video from a foreign library ?

Thanks

Re: VPN use on Hub 3

Certainly you can use a desktop VPN through a VM hub.  The speed you get will be determined by the VPN provider - some are better than others.

I am using ExpressVPN but have used others.

Re: VPN use on Hub 3

He means running his own server and yes you can. You’ll obviously need to port forward.

...and if you don’t, the library part is confusing, then you won’t have problems accessing someone else’s VPN server either. I get around 100Mb/s off the one I use.
