Upload speed not exceeding 5Mbps on M200

Upload speeds were consistently around 20 Mbps but for the last couple of months it has never gone over 4 to 5 Mbps no matter what time of day I run the speed tests. Is my line and / or hub faulty?

It seems I'm getting upload speed levels of the M50 package. Have virgin put a hard cap on my upload speeds or is that just a coincidence?

Speed test result

Think Broadband QM

Maybe a lot of people upstream video in your area?

Your BQM don't look that good unless you was the one turning the hub off and on?

Do a speed test here

Re: Upload speed not exceeding 5Mbps on M200

There was some downtime in my area this morning so BQM looking worse than usual.

Here's the dsl reports speed test , taken using ethernet cable plugged into the superhub.

I did consider it might be due more people working from home, but the upload speed is never more than 4.xx Mbps no matter what time of the day I check. You'd expect most people to be in bed at 3 AM.
My line stats seem fine so the only think I could think of is some sort of hard limit on VMs end.

For some reason the BufferBloat was not tested I wanted to see if your buffering at that speed... maybe try another browser.

You can check your upoad limit in the Operation Configuration of the hub

You might be on to something. The buffer bloat meter redlined for the whole duration of the upload portion.

Re: Upload speed not exceeding 5Mbps on M200

Looks like your buffering in the modem so likely the the upstream scheduler is over loaded with many modems fighting for bandwidth.

Thanks. Is there any action I can take or do I just have to suck it up hope they fix it at some point in the not too far future?

You can wait for the forum team to see what they have to say.

For testing you could try limiting how many devices are connected to just one thats clean to check no other device is uploading and dropping your speed.
