Upload speed issues -

Herro,

The first post, i thought i sent a post last night but hey-ho it's possible it was lost in transit.

This morning it looks like you've seen there is an issue. I figured I'd supply some data, plus ask for some advice.

Area affected 20

Symptoms: upload speed dropping out for extended periods to < 1Mbs , the upload would be fine, 200 nearly but then drop down to half after 5 seconds (could just be traffic shaping that one - bursts to download small files etc).

This morning the speed tests are more positive BUT real-world testing of zoom showing I'm suffering network issues. I can hear them and see them fine but they complain I'm freezing and losing audio, which marries to last nights analysis.

I setup a monitor  https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality/share/c655a9819c83f533b998394497d9294129...

My network stats are

My question is, how do i interpret these tables and marry that to the monitor showing bad latency and packet loss.

Also is that monitor indicative of a network problem... 40% packet loss feels bad... 😄

Re: Upload speed issues -

That BQM looks like someone has switched off noise on the line.

Have you checked the 'Check Service Status' at the top of the page ?

If nothing is showing try phoning 0800 561 0061, this will tell you of more local issues that may be affecting your district. Be aware that it isn't a manned line.

Go round all the accessible internal and external co-ax connections and ensure that they are finger tight.

If everything above is OK you will need to contact VM.

You can either phone in (08:00 is the best time) or wait on here for a few days (6 to 7 days average) until one of the VM Forum Staff comes along.

If you wait on here Do Not bump the thread it will put it further down the VM 'to do list'.

Re: Upload speed issues -

Hi codebykev,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the community.

I'm very sorry to hear about the broadband issue you're having.

I have taken a look on our side and I am unable to see anything that could be affecting this.

Can you confirm that all the cables on your hub are tightly secure?

Can you confirm if you're continuing to have this issue?

^Martin
