Stats show only one channel back to 32qam but this flucuates - what is consistent is the utlimate drop in speed.  I had this once before where my download never got above 200mbps and it needed some work at the cabinet - could this be the same thing again?

Re: Upload 64 qam dropped to 32qam on 2 channels - download speeds dropped

This will need an engineer to put right.

You can either phone in (08:00 is the best time) or wait on here for a few days (6 to 7 days average) until one of the VM Forum Staff comes along.

If you wait on here Do Not bump the thread it will put it further down the VM 'to do list'.

Re: Upload 64 qam dropped to 32qam on 2 channels - download speeds dropped

Hi WhiteHartMart

Thanks for posting. My apologies for the broadband issues.

I've checked the system and can see you've already had a tech out since posting. I hope everything is resolved, though do let me know if you need further assistance

Kind regards,

Re: Upload 64 qam dropped to 32qam on 2 channels - download speeds dropped

Thanks

Yea, Technician came out last Friday.  Said he was going to monitor things, as he lives nearby, and would contact me back although I've heard nothing since.

On a positive note, the upload QAM now seems to have stabilised at 64 on all channels and I think some kind of update came through a few days ago for this to happen??

I'm still getting lower download speeds on the 600mbps service than I was just a few weeks back on the 500mbps package which is disappointing (although upload speed has improved to the expected level) - I know the high 400s I get now is still good but doesn't feel like an upgrade when I was getting over 500mb consistently prior to this?

Re: Upload 64 qam dropped to 32qam on 2 channels - download speeds dropped

My tests before the upgrade were wireless so the ones since the upgrade are wireless also - ensuring the same router settings are used and the same location near the router is used .  My laptops don't have wired Ethernet connections so being consistent using the same devices wireless is the best I can do.  I've tried with 3 devices (same three as before the upgrade) and nothing is performing as well speed wise as before.

Thanks for coming back to me.

Can you run the wired test via Ethernet for me with only that device connected, just to see what it's showing?

Re: Upload 64 qam dropped to 32qam on 2 channels - download speeds dropped

Ran a few via a USB to Ethernet adaptor - this is the best I got first thing this morning:-

10412416034

Fifteen minutes later I managed to squeeze a little more via WiFi

10412436203

Appreciate in isolation these are ok - but as above, they are less than pre update (when I would frequently hit over 500mbps) and a fair way off the expected 600mbps or thereabouts.
