Upgraded to 1Gig today, SamKnows Down Speed to Hub4 318mbps?

Hi There,

I've just got the upgrade through today and I've been making sure everything is working as expected. I've noticed that my speed seems to be maxing out at 180 mbps wired so I was reading through various things and found the SamKnows speed test and it showed this:

Do I need to get someone to take a look at this or will this speed come up on its own the next few days?

I also got 1Gig yesterday. My SH4 is in Modem Mode. This is my speed via Wired connection.

Running on 1Gbps VM service with SH4 in Modem Mode, with a ASUS RT-AC5300 router. With this setup I get Fantastic WIRED and WIRELESS Signals in my home. I dont work for VM. But I work in IT, and I know my tech.
My advice is at your own risk. If you are happy with my answers please press Kudo ?

Speed increase should be within minutes.

If possible can you set up a Broadband Quality Monitor (BQM) at thinkbroadband.com - this will give you an insight into what is happening with the signal at the other side of the Hub, it will take a few hours to get any kind of trend showing although you should post the link straight away.

Please post a 'Live Link' to your BQM on here straight away.

Instructions for posting BQM Live Link

Under your BQM graph are two links in red.

Click the lower link (Share Live Graph) then click generate.

Copy the text in the Direct Link box, beware, there may be more text than you can see.

On here click the Link icon (2 links chain to the left of the camera icon)

In the URL box paste the link you copied and in the ‘text to display’ box write My BQM then click OK - you can post the link straight away.

Re: Upgraded to 1Gig today, SamKnows Down Speed to Hub4 318mbps?

Can you please

Type 192.168.0.1 (192.168.100.1 in Modem mode) into your browser URL bar and press enter.

Hub 2 & 3 When the page appears DO NOT LOG IN but click ‘Check Router Status’.

Hub 4 When the page appears LOG IN then Advanced Settings > Tools > Network Status.

Copy and paste the contents of the Downstream, Upstream, Configuration and Network Log tabs onto here, if you get a yellow / straw box warning click the Post button again.

Use one post for each tab if you wish.

Please do not use screen grabs.

A Guru will be along soon to decipher the info.

Re: Upgraded to 1Gig today, SamKnows Down Speed to Hub4 318mbps?

Okay so bit of an update. I did some tests and ended up restarting the hub a few times. Also discovered a Cat5 cable in my chain that I thought was Cat5e.

Having replaced that with a 5e I now am getting the expected speeds to the hub. ~930mbps.

However speed to the computer was still around 300mbps which I would like to get increased now.

What factors should I be looking at to increase that speed or is it likely a result of my network setup:

Hub4 modem mode -> Netduma R1 router -> 5 port switch -> computer

thanks for taking the time to assist!

Try testing without the Netduma R1 router & 5 port switch in the LAN.
