Been having awful ping spikes for about a week now, to the point that I'm unable to game online with the average ping sitting around 300 for most servers, over a 10 ping test. Fluctuating between 40-thousands. The average ping would previously have been in the range of 40.
I've tried this across various servers/IP's so not limited to one game's servers or anything like that. I have also set the superhub to modem mode and used a wired connection, but problem persists. Occurs across multiple devices, also.
The phone folk haven't a clue what I'm on about, as usual. Any suggestions here?
If possible can you set up a Broadband Quality Monitor (BQM) at thinkbroadband.com - this will give you an insight into what is happening with the signal at the other side of the Hub, it will take a few hours to get any kind of trend showing although you should post the link straight away.
Please post a 'Live Link' to your BQM on here straight away.
Instructions for posting BQM Live Link
Under your BQM graph are two links in red.
Click the lower link (Share Live Graph) then click generate.
Copy the text in the Direct Link box, beware, there may be more text than you can see.
On here click the Link icon (2 links chain to the left of the camera icon)
In the URL box paste the link you copied and in the ‘text to display’ box write My BQM then click OK - you can post the link straight away.
Yeah just looking through the gaming sub-forum and seems to be a heap of people with the same issue. Must be an over utilisation issue with everyone working from home, so not holding out hope of them doing anything about it. Shame as we've just renewed on an 18 month contract!
