Terrible drops of speed on 1gb tariff

Since I have switched to 1gb tariff my internet speed is dropping every day sometimes to 10Mbps !!! Only way to fix it is to restart a hub which is in modem mode. (Resetting my own router isn't helping). I have to do this sometimes couple times a day!! I called help line and after a auto test auto voice told me to reset a hub#&@!!!! Also it's great that you offering 1.1gb speed when hub over Ethernet has 1gb ports :DDD. Nice marketing trick.

The whole point of a faster connection is to be shared across concurrent devices. You can get 1.1Gbps across multiple devices, wired and wireless, when using the HUB 4. Maybe you should do your research before posting...

Re: Terrible drops of speed on 1gb tariff

The 1.1gb speed is a bit deceptive, but thats not unusual.

It's normal for routers to add all the bandwidth on the different bands together and say thats the speed.

They are not wrong, but it's a bit unhelpful.

The think with the problem thats going to happen more with the hub4 is overheating. Anything actively cooled is going to get blocked with dust then add a 38c heat wave and watch them fail.

I honestly hope they think about a hub 5 and discontinue the 4.

It was utterly unforgivable to use another router with flawed puma chipset after the puma 6 lawsuit.

Re: Terrible drops of speed on 1gb tariff

Spoiler

Yes, it's normal for routers to give all together combined speed of WiFi, like my own 2600, but Ethernet is a different story(mine has 2.5Gb port) but you can't achieve a speed for your one device with virgin hub(I might live alone and use only PC for example) and I'm paying for 1145Mb speed as I was promised but 1Gb port won't allow it. For overheating issue, I have 2 independent fans in and out on bottom and top of Hub4 but still not helping. Like I said, speed is dropping everyday and I have to restart a router sometimes few times a day. This is not what I've ordered. I had stable speeds on old hub, but now it's just bad.

Re: Terrible drops of speed on 1gb tariff

Agreed. They should really have gone with 2.5 g ports for there super duper hub 4. And anything but puma chipset.

They really don't learn, as now there is zero headroom for expansion.

Re: Terrible drops of speed on 1gb tariff

The maximum throughput from a Hub 4 with only be 940mb regardless of what your own router can handle, it's just a poor design and should as mentioned at the very least have had 2.5 Gbps ports, but sure it is what it is and we just have to work with it.

As for your problem. Can you please upload your router stats and set up a BQM

Type 192.168.0.1 or (192.168.100.1 if you have your Hub in Modem mode) into your address bar at the top of your browser

DO NOT LOG IN, just click “Check Router Status” at the bottom of the page. Sometimes the “Check Router Status” is missing, in this case just go ahead and log in and go to Advanced Settings-> Tools-> Network Status.

Please copy and paste the contents of the Downstream, Upstream, Configuration and Network Log tabs, if you get a yellow warning just click the Post button again.

You can use more than one post for each item if needed!

If you get a warning when you hit “Post” just hit “Post” again and it should work ok!

Please do not use screenshots

Also can you please setup a Broadband Quality Monitor (BQM) at thinkbroadband.com. Just click on Create a new monitor.

Under your graph you just created Click (Share Live Graph)

Copy the text in the “Direct Link” box and paste it on here
