Speed issue

Hi,

I was wondering if I could get some assistance on an issue I am having with download speeds. I can't seem to find the contact button on the website so thought I'd use this forum.

I've run a speed check (Virgin's one) and it brought up no issues but when using the independant speedtest(.net) I am getting a consistant 15.83Mbp/s download with 10.40Mbp/s upload. I have paid for the M200 package so I am surprised that I'm operating at almost 13 times slower than the advertised speed.

Can anyone please help?

I have already tried resetting my hub.

Re: Speed issue

Hi All

Ian helped me with this issue and he got an engineer visit booked on 8th May.

To be entirely honest it was a complete waste of time, he couldn't/wouldn't enter my home so there was no point in commuting to my home to have a conversation that could have been held over the phone.

I explained the issue to him and he said to take his number and drop him a text next week once the government had outlined their plan on Sunday for easing the lockdown.

I have text him this week (twice) and have had no response from him. I'm getting a little bit frustrated now as I'm still getting a consecutive 30mb/s yet paying for 200mb/s.

Can anyone please help me?

Re: Speed issue

Hi Gary

Same speed on wired and wireless.

I have tried resetting the router.

I have speedtested on mobile + laptop and got the same results.

Re: Speed issue

Direct to the hub and not via an access point or switch or powerline adaptor etc

Re: Speed issue

CAT5 will max out at 100Mbps.

Have you tried a different cable?

Re: Speed issue

Gary - I'm not even getting above 30mbps
also, the wireless will not max out at 100mbps

to just add context, when it was first installed about 3 months ago I was getting near 200mbps on wireless.
