Since I've got virgin it's no better than my previous package with plus net, I was paying for 60mb getting around 45mb with virgin I'm paying for 350mb and downloads on a hardwired xbox 30cm from the router is only downloading at 53mb or below, been like this since the start and just get the usual excuses or have you tried this, wouldn't recommend virgin to anyone I know ,

Hi @Nickyf86,
Welcome back to our Community Forums! Thank you for your post and I'm sorry to hear that you're having some speed issues after signing up with us! That is not ideal at all.
Have you been able to take a look at our Speed Up page to see if this can help with your ongoing speed issue?
Have you recently rebooted your Hub to see if this can help?
I have been able to run some checks on our internal system, but I cannot see any issues with your power levels or any issues in your local area that could be impacting your service.
Have you been able to follow @jbrennand 's suggestion?
Let us know if you need any further assistance. We'll be more than happy to help.
Thank you.

hey im curious because im having issues after about 2 weeks of having virgin media for the first time. Does your xbox say in network settings "NAT Type: Unavailable " and "xbox.com/xboxone/Teredo" while virgin media may not lie about their speeds since my other devices work just fine, they are ignoring and denying that they are fault for xbox's not being able to work properly.

Maybe its a Microsoft network issue rather than virgin? End of day you can only download as fast as Microsoft upload.
I have a Series X and a PS5, and the Series X downloads slower in general than the ps5 via ethernet. The fastest I generally get with Series X is 400mbps, with ps5 double that.

VM don't throttle any normal uses at any time. If it is reproduceable, then it isn't a connection fault, which leaves an internet routing problem. To check this out, use a free VPN such as Proton VPN (for test purposes) to see if the problem occurs then.

Replying to a few msgs here, it's an xbox series X, it's hardwired from hub only get 100mbps instead of the 350mbps my package states, when I do a speed test on my phone over WiFi says I'm getting the 350mbps but quite often the TV which is hardwired by a 2m cat5e cable buffers regardless of whether its youtube ,Netflix,prime... first time I've ever had an issue with broadband, previously BT ,EE,sky and plus net, thought changing from my EE which was 67mbps max speeds would make a difference but sadly I feel my Internet is way worse now .I've tried all the steps , reset to factory settings, reboot, disconnect every device and back again, split the network ... nothing seems to improve it and only works well if only 2-3 devices connected to it
