Slow upload speeds

Hi,

Can anyone help with next steps on dealing with a slow upload speed?   I have a cabled ethernet connection to my computer.   It's long but on my M350 contract I get the advertised download speed no problem.   But the upload is significantly slower.   I average 10 - 15Mbps when the advertised is 36 Mbps.   I communicated with Virgin by their online chat last week and it improved for a day.   Over the weekend the service was completely lost (Area 21) and outage was reported on the Virgin website.   We're finally back in business but my upload speeds remain under 20 Mbps.   Can it be anything I'm doing wrong?   And if not how do I get to escalate this with Virgin?   Thanks everyone.

Re: Slow upload speeds

Can you post your Hub status and logs?
Someone should be spot if there is a problem
Navigate to http://192.168.0.1 (or http://192.168.100.1 - if in modem mode)
Don't log in!
Click on 'router status'
Copy/paste the data from each of the tabs. The forum software will remove the MAC addresses for you (you may need to click the 'post' button again).

Also, set up a 'Broadband Quality Monitor'. This will monitor the state of your connection and record any network dropouts etc - You can do this at ThinkBroadband (https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality)
Give it a while to gather data and then click 'Share Live graph' and paste the 'Direct Link' into the forum!

Re: Slow upload speeds

Hi puzzledpaul

Thanks for posting - my apologies for the lower than expected upload speed.

I can see you spoke to the team since posting and we were able to run some diagnostics. The upload speed was noted achieved 36 in safe mode.

Have you got another device you can test the speeds on please?

Best,
