Slow upload speed

Like others posting last year, my upload speeds have plummeted recently, making video conferencing very difficult. I'm a doctor and need to be able to use video consulting reliably from home.

I'm on a 100mb package with a Hub3 and download speeds are generally fine, often averaging 70mb/sec or higher, but upload speeds are mostly very slow, averaging 0.2Mb/sec. Off peak they can reach 5Mb/sec, which is fine, but this is rare. The upstream bonded channels on the Hub 3 are40, 39.3, 38.5 and 39 on 64 qam modulation. A broadband quality monitor shows long latencies and some dropped packets between 9:30am and 12 midday, which is not surprising, I suppose. I can post this monitor summary if I am allowed to.

Service status and router diagnostics do not report any problems.

The speed testing is on a wired connection, I have checked all connections and performed a hard reset of the router with the ethernet cables connected.

VMs phone help took me round in circles but refused to connect me to a human being. Eventually texted me a link to a help page about slow wifi... Not impressed. Can anybody help?

Thanks.

Re: Slow upload speed

Sorry, that should read " a hard reset with the ethernet cables disconnected."

Re: Slow upload speed

Can you post the direct link to your BQM please

Also can you please upload your router stats

Type 192.168.0.1 or (192.168.100.1 if you have your Hub in Modem mode) into your address bar at the top of your browser

For Hubs 2 & 3 - DO NOT LOG IN, just click “Check Router Status”

For Hub 4 - When the page appears LOG IN then click on:

Advanced Settings > Tools > Network Status.

Please copy and paste the contents of the Downstream, Upstream, Configuration and Network Log tabs, if you get a yellow warning just click the Post button again. You can use more than one post for each item if needed.

If you get a warning when you hit “Post” just hit “Post” again and it should work ok!

Please do not use screen grabs

Could you access your router using http://192.168.0.1/ or http://192.168.100.1 for modem mode. Log in, select the 'Advanced settings / Tools / Network status' option and paste your 'Downstream', 'Upstream', and 'Network Log' tabs? Please copy/paste this data as text, split between multiple posts (Sometimes you have to click 'Post' twice due to an error message).

Create a BQM and post the live link.

Re: Slow upload speed

HUB stats look ok so we'll have to see what the BQM shows.
