Slow upload speed M100

I usually get an upload speed of around 7-10Mbps as expected with M100, but recently it's been more like 1-5Mbps which just isn't good enough for me, download speeds are absolutely fine at 100Mbps+.

I'm using a wired connection from my PC to my Hub 3, and nothing has changed with my setup, is there some kind of capacity issue in my area perhaps?

Re: Slow upload speed M100

You could try a factory reset – a lot of the VM techies on here are suggesting it as a first option and it has helped many customers.

Note that a pinhole reset on a Hub3 can be a bit problematic - so do it EXACTLY this way (not as the VM website says!).

Firstly, make sure the Hub's sticker/card with the two passwords on it is still there and legible or you will be stuffed ! If its not – DON’T DO IT !

With the Hub switched "on", disconnect any ethernet connections and then push in the “reset pin” with the end of a paperclip/thin nail or similar (bigger items like ball point pen ends may not press it in far enough) until you feel it at the “stop point” and hold it there firmly for a "timed" minimum of 60 seconds do NOT restart the Hub after that. Leave it 10' or so to stabilise and then your passwords/passphrase for both the Hub settings and the Wifi networks will revert to the two printed on the Hub sticker on its base/side/card. Make sure you use the wifi one for devices connecting to the wifi and the settings/admin one to access the Hub (it is a six digit numeric one).

Re: Slow upload speed M100

I tried as you suggested, no difference unfortunately. Been trying to find out about faults/congestion or if there's a scheduled fix in my area but VM have just been sending me in circles between their teams.

Re: Slow upload speed M100

As a general rule capacity issues affect the downstream far more often than upstream.

You may want to connect to the hub, click "check router status" and then post the data from Downstream, Upstream and Network log.  Post as formatted text, not images, and we can see if there's obvious power or noise problems.

Re: Slow upload speed M100

Sorry to hear that you're having issues with your connection Lcooper119. I have looked into your account and have not been able to find any reason why this would be happening to you.

We have no faults listed on our system for your area that could also be causing the issues you're having.

Our system has stated a new hub could resolve the issue, I can arrange that over a private message, which I will drop over in a moment.

Regards

Steven_L
