Hi,

Just upgraded to m500 from m200. Used to get 220ish on m200.

Since the upgrade my average is 250 however i have had 1 test at 350.

i have set up a trace at

Re: Slow speeds after upgrade from m200 to m500

Your Down power levels are all out of spec. +10dBmV is the recommended max. Call it in and see what they say when they look at it.

Looks like you need a tech visit to fit an attenuator on the line to reduce the levels - is there one sitting there - unconnected ?

Re: Slow speeds after upgrade from m200 to m500

Cant see one anywhere.

Is that something i could buy and fit myself? Does it connect before the router or where it comes out the wall?

Just wary if i ring up it will take ages for them to acknowledge what im saying

Re: Slow speeds after upgrade from m200 to m500

It fits on either end of the wall socket to Hub cable, it looks like this one, values vary.

6d-B-Attenuator

Re: Slow speeds after upgrade from m200 to m500

Any advice on what value one would work with my logs? 3db or 6db?

Re: Slow speeds after upgrade from m200 to m500

A 10dB would be ideal.

BUT

Modifying the VM infrastructure is against the T & Cs of your contract (not that it has stopped me in a previous life).

Re: Slow speeds after upgrade from m200 to m500

Could the high downstream levels genuinley be causing me to lose speed so much?

If so then i will insist an engineer to come look

They certainly can.

Re: Slow speeds after upgrade from m200 to m500

All fixed, think the issue was caused by some features of the Netgear router slowing the connection down. i.e. Traffic Meter and Access Control
