Slow internet

Sick to death of getting slow internet on my phone, it can drop as low as 2mbps. I've completed all the procedures that virgin has recommended and they have changed my settings. It seems to be all the internet companies in the uk who are struggling to provide good internet. Peed of now.

What frequency (2.4/5GHz?)?
What VM Hub?
What VM package?
What speedtest site?
What do other devices (laptop/pc/console/etc) get?
What other internet companies are struggling to provide internet?
What is the source of this information?

I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & BT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired 2 WiFi,) SH2 in modem mode with Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's. On VIVID200, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.
