Hello everyone my speeds on the M500 package seem to be really slow and I'm not sure what to do
When i do a speed test through ethernet it says I'm getting 510mb download but when I'm downloading stuff on my xbox and pc the maximum speed it's reaching is about 140mb and it won't go up anymore.
These are the same speeds I was getting on the 350 package.
On Xbox this can be limited by the Microsoft Servers they use, I personally, even on 1Gig only get about 25MBP/s down which is far below what I should do, on Steam it's usually 80-85MB which is more realistic. On your PC, is it the Windows Store you're downloading from or somewhere else? It does indicate an issue on wherever you're downloading from rather than Virgin as you said yourself that you're getting 510 down on a Speedtest via Ethernet..
** I work for VirginMedia but all opinions posted here are my own.
If you post your router stats we can check the quality of your line:
Could you access your router using http://192.168.0.1/ or http://192.168.100.1 for modem mode . You shouldn't need log in, select the 'Check Router Status' option and paste your 'Downstream', 'Upstream', and 'Network Log' tabs? Please copy/paste this data as text, split between multiple posts (Sometimes you have to click 'Post' twice due to an error message).
Could you please create a BQM (Broadband Quality Monitor) here, and post the live link?
