Slow download speed again! - M500 Package

Hi All,

I'm encountering slow download and upload speeds again on my M500 package.

Speed I am currently experiencing below

downup.JPG

I'll post some of the logs below from router portal.

Not impressed as I am paying a lot of money a month for this.

We are also getting very poor Wi-Fi speeds upstairs, my wife is unable to stream content from her Amazon Prime without it stuttering or lagging out completely. I have ran the Virgin Media Connect app and it comes back as fine, but the experience tells me otherwise.

I've tried all the usual, reset the router (V3 router), separate the 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz channels, change the channels on the Wi-Fi etc...

There are currently around 13 devices attached, 4 are wired and the rest are wireless.

Since taking up the Virgin contract in February I've ha 3 engineers out, the broadband works for a while then goes back to the current struggles I'm having at the moment with speeds.

Some help on this would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Stephen

Re: Slow download speed again! - M500 Package

Wifi speeds aren’t covered under any guarantees.

What speeds do you get wired to the hub directly?

The router has also been going offline in the early hours of the morning, which lasts for around 5 minutes then comes back again

Re: Slow download speed again! - M500 Package

Your PostRS errors are indicating noise on the circuit.  This can be caused by loose connections, check they are all tight.  If the cabling is fine, I suspect an engineer will need to find the source of the noise.  Also your power levels are approaching the upper limit, they should be between -6 and +10, preferably around 0.

Re: Slow download speed again! - M500 Package

I was getting 502MB when I tested last night wired

It's the Wi-Fi which is extremely erratic, I was only getting 14MB's s you can see from my last post.

It's almost unusable upstairs, even though the App is telling me it is fine, it struggles to stream Amazon Prime and Netfilx

For a supposed top tier package in my area, it's leaving a lot to be desired, I purchased a wi-fi extender which was recommended by other members of the community, but this took the speeds down even further and I had to remove it, and I can't get the VM supplied extenders as the app is saying our Wi-Fi is fine.

Frustrated

Re: Slow download speed again! - M500 Package

All connections were checked by the engineer on the last visit, and I have checked today again and they look fine
